First Launch
Enable location access when prompted — this ensures accurate weather alerts. The app includes four main tabs: Settings, Information Sources, Highlights, and KNFB Reader Basic.
You must log in through the Settings tab first. Until you do, the other three tabs are grayed out and inaccessible. The app reopens to the last tab you accessed.
Open the Settings tab
Settings is where you log in and manage alerts.
Enter your subscriber ID and security code, then tap Login
Your codes are the same ones you use for the phone service.
Allow location access when prompted
Location is used only for localized weather alerts.
The Four Tabs
Settings
About — app version and additional information. Support and Feedback — opens an email to the support team. Emergency Weather Alerts toggle — enable or disable automatic audio alerts.
Information Sources
A full listing of publications organized by category: state-specific publications, breaking news, magazines, and an All Publications section. TV listings are also available here. Use the Add button on any publication to save it to your Favorites in the Highlights tab.
Highlights
Your personalized home screen: Welcome (your name and location), Weather Alerts, What’s New, Local Weather (AccuWeather forecast), Favorite Publications, and My Queue (offline articles saved for later — only appears if items are in the queue).
KNFB Reader Basic
A built-in document scanner. Point your camera at any printed text, tap to capture, and the app reads it aloud. Free and built directly into the app.
