Accessing NFB-NEWSLINE by Phone

From any touch-tone telephone, call NFB-NEWSLINE using your local Hawaiʻi number (check your welcome letter), or use one of the national numbers below. The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week — no internet or smartphone required.

Logging In

Enter your 6-digit subscriber ID and 4-digit security code when prompted. After your first call, the system remembers your number — you’ll only need to re-enter your codes when calling from a different phone.

Favorites let you access your preferred papers and magazines quickly. My Newspaper is a custom publication you build from sections across multiple papers — for example, sports from one paper, business from another, and local news from a third.

To set up Favorites

Press 0 from the main menu → 6 → follow prompts to add, delete, or explore.

To set up My Newspaper

Press 0 from the main menu → 5 → follow prompts to add, delete, or explore sections.

Spell Mode

While reading an article, press #, 5 to pause and enter Spell Mode. The system reads the word you’ve paused on. Use the keypad to select the word and press 2 to have it spelled letter by letter. Press * to return to the article.

Search Mode

Keep your address and zip code current on your account so alerts are properly localized. To update: press 0 from the main menu → 9 → 1. Or call 1-866-504-7300.

Note: NFB-NEWSLINE weather alerts should be used alongside other emergency alert systems, not as your only source.

TV Listings

Press 8 from the main menu. The first time, you’ll enter your zip code, service provider, and time zone.

Job Listings

Press 9 from the main menu. Choose 1 for CareerBuilder or 2 for USAJobs. Set up a search profile with zip code, distance (5–150 miles), job category, education level, employment type, and salary range. Profiles are saved for future calls. Press 1 and 3 to move through listings; press #, 9 to email a listing to yourself.
