Apply for NFB-NEWSLINE Hawaiʻi

NFB-NEWSLINE is completely free for any Hawaiʻi resident who is blind, low vision, deafblind, or otherwise print-disabled. That includes people with vision loss, dyslexia, or a physical disability that makes reading standard print difficult.

Am I Eligible?

You qualify for a free NFB-NEWSLINE account if you:

Are blind or have low vision

Are deafblind

Have a reading disability such as dyslexia

Have a physical disability that prevents you from holding or reading printed materials

Have age-related vision decline that makes reading print difficult

There is no income requirement. Hawaiʻi residents of all ages may apply. Children under 18 require a parent or guardian to complete the enrollment process. Two account types are available for minors: a Limited Access account (recommended for age 12 and under) and a Full Access account (available for teens under 18 with parental consent).

What You’ll Need

Before filling out the application, it helps to have the following ready:

Your full name and mailing address

A phone number where you can be reached

An email address (recommended — you’ll receive your account codes here)

The name of the person who referred you, if applicable

For applicants under 18: a parent or guardian’s name and contact information

We process your application
Marcus Bass, our Hawaiʻi program coordinator, will review your application and submit it to the NFB-NEWSLINE national office. This typically takes a few business days.
Receive your access codes
Once your account is set up, you’ll receive a confirmation with your subscriber ID and security code. Keep these handy — you’ll use them every time you access the service.
